そう！行ってきましたマレーシア！
九州よりも南に行ったことが無かった九州男児が、沖縄を超えマレーシア、クアラルンプールで開催された
イベントに参加！
招待ゲストには、日本人バイクビルダーのCherrys Companyさん、Hammer Sycleさん、
ローライダーのカスタムを行なっているHitechnixさん、
Wildman 石井さんをはじめ、日本人ピンストライパーも数名招待されておりました。
このイベントに招待されている日本人の多さに、日本のカスタムカルチャーが注目を浴びている事が分かります。
初めてのマレーシアはとにかく蒸し暑い！空港には夕方に到着しましたが、気温32度、、、、
Yes! I was able to visit Malaysia!
I'm originally from Kyushu (southern island of Japan) and have never traveled further south before. This trip took me passed Okinawa to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where the event was being held.
This event featured invited builders from Japan Cherry's Company, Hammer Sycle as well as lowrider shop Hi-Technix. Of course, there were also Japanese pinstripers Wildman and a number of others.
The event presents many of Japan's top Kustom Kulture people.
My first impression of Malaysia was the heat and humidity! We arrived at the airport in the late afternoon but it was still 32-degrees...
空港に着くとArt Of Speedのスタッフと合流し、夕食を食べにレストランに連れて行ってもらいました！
We were greeted by Art of Speed staff. From the airport, we were taken to a restaurant for dinner.

ここでアメリカからの招待ゲストとも合流。
去年のHCS2015でゲストとして横浜に訪れていた、
プロスケーター スティーブ＝キャバレロ氏、
グリーンのパンヘッド『Booger Sugar』のビルダー ジェイソン ウェーバー氏
ホワイトとパープルのトライアンフのビルダー ジェフ レイトン氏も来てました！
初めてマレーシアの料理を食べるタイミングでしたが、
チキン、パスタ、チャーハン、揚げ物。たまに激辛の揚げ物がありましたが。。。
美味しく頂きました。
厨房も広く、オープンキッチンになっていてとても雰囲気のあるお店でした。
一日目は移動日でしたので、夕食後はそのままホテルへと向かいました。
When we arrived at the restaurant, we met up with the guests from USA.
These guests included HCS2015 guests, professional skateboarder Steve Caballero, The green panhead "Booger Sugar" builder Jason Webber and the white/purple Triumph builder Jeff Leighton!
My first meal in Malaysia consisted of chicken, pasta, fried rice and other fried foods. Although there were a few items that were extremely spicy... everything tasted so good. The restaurant had an open kitchen and wide working area with such a great atmosphere. Our first day in Malaysia ended with dinner and we drove to the hotel to end the night.
二日目はいよいよイベント当日、朝ホテルを出て会場へ向かう途中、
ハイウェイを使ったのですが、料金所が広すぎる。
というか車の交通量が一日中多く、マレーシアで運転したくないと思うほどの交通量でした。
Our second day started early. It was the first day of the event. On our way to the event, we used the highway. It had a large toll gate. The amount of cars and traffic in Malaysia made me think that I didn't want to drive here and was lucky we had a bus and driver.
目的地に着くと、もうバナーの準備がされ、屋内会場は2会場と野外の会場が1つという
かなり広いスペースに驚きました。
さっそく会場内に入り、MOONEYESブースの準備を行ない、開場時間となりました。
We arrived at the event hall and prepared our booth for the event. I was really impressed how large the overall space was. There was a main indoor hall and a secondary indoor hall as well as a large outdoor area. Soon after we finished the MOONEYES Booth, the main doors open and the event started.
開場前の静けさがウソの様に、多くの来場客が会場内を埋め尽くし、
Shige-sanとWildman 石井さんはサインを求める人だかりに埋もれていました。
MOONEYES Staffということでスティーブさんもサイン攻め。彼は海外向けの仕事をしているので
なんとなく分かりますが。
まさか僕のサインが欲しいと言って頂ける方がいらっしゃるとは、、、誰かと間違ってませんか？笑
とりあえず「SUNNY」と書いてみました。僕海外の方にはサニーと名乗ってます。
ヤノでもよかったですが、英語圏の方には、「YES」「NO」＝ヤノ＝どっちだ！
みたいだと言われたことがありますので、かなり楽になりました。笑
さて、気を取り直して会場内のご紹介！
まずは、屋内の会場からどうぞ！
Outside the event has was an unbelievable crowd lined up to come inside. Shige-san and Wildman were buried by the amount of people coming for autographs. MOONEYES Steve also signed a few things. There were even some people that wanted my autograph as well! Maybe they thought I was someone else? Haha!
In any case, I signed a few things with "Sunny". Most people abroad know me as Sunny. I don't mind my actual name Yano but in English it starts to sound like "Yes" "No" or Yah-No! But using Sunny made things easier.
Ok, let's take a look at what's inside the event!
First, the indoor part of the event.
日本から招待されたCherry's Companyさん、Hammer Sycleさんのバイクも展示されていました。
他にも沢山のバイクが会場に展示されています！
From Japan, invited builders Cherry's Company and Hammer Sycle and their bikes were on display. There were also a ton of other bikes inside the main hall!
もちろん車も沢山！
Of course, tons of cars too!
コアなMQQNEYESファンの車を発見！！
I saw this crazy MQQNEYES Fan car!!
アンテナトッパーの一番上は新商品。パーキングパーニットはMIM Vol. 17の付録です！
そしてもう一台！
The antenna ball at the very top is a new color in our product line. The parking permit is also from the newly released MIM Vol. 17!
And there was one more!
ダッシュボードのアイボールは、カスタムCARの付録です。
新商品や付録など、マレーシアまで行き渡ってることにびっくりです。
ありがとうございます！
会場には自転車も展示されておりました。
バガーのようなスピーカー付きの自転車や、
ツイストの入った自転車、ピッカピカな自転車ばかりで、
外で乗るにはもったいないような、、
The items on the dashboard are from Custom Car magazine. New items from MQQNEYES and special not for sale items were all over. I was amazed.

There were many cars to see at this event.
There were also a lot of cool custom bicycles as well. One had hamburger looking speakers and full custom paint jobs normally found on cars. These lowrider bicycles were show quality.
野外の会場では、ドリフト走行の体験会や、スワップミートなどが行われており、
メインストリートの両サイドに来場者の車両が並べられていました。
Outside the event featured a drift ride, swap meet vendors, food market and on both sides of the main street had bike parking for the spectators.
マレーシアの二輪は、フロントにもナンバーを付けないといけないんですね。
それにしてもナンバーがカッティングシートのようなもので、かなりチープな感じです。
In Malaysia, you have to have a license plate on the front of a motorcycle. However, some of these license plates were surely homemade to fit the owners taste.
東南アジアならではなのか、Shige-san、Wildman 石井さんにサインを求めて来る方の中でも、
偽物のMQQNEYESがあり、Shige-sanもびっくり。
Free HandでRegisterマークをShige-sanが書いておりました。
これは本物になったってことですかね？笑
Shige and Wildman are always busy during these events signing autographs and taking pictures. When ever Shige sees a fake MQQNEYES product or T-shirt, although surprised, most customer don't know so he adds a registered trademark (R) by hand with a Sharpie and signs his name. Does this make it authentic?
スワップミートに自転車が売ってましたが、これはどういうことでしょう。。。
あまり深く考えないようにします。
There were a few bicycles for sale in the swap meet area, like this one... I don't think too deeply about it but very interesting indeed.
会場内では1日2回、日本人招待ゲストのHi Technixさんのホッピングショーが行われ、
ショーの最中は、会場真ん中の特設ブースにて、かなりの人だかりが出来ていました。
僕自身初めてローライダーのホッピングを見ることが出来、かなりの迫力と大きな歓声が
湧きあがっていました。
The event was 2 full days. During the event, invited guest from Japan, Hi Technix pleased the crowd with a hopping demonstration in a special area in the center of the main hall and it was packed with people. It was also my first time seeing this and I was just as impressed as the viewers.
2日目にはアワード発表があり、招待ゲストが選んだ車両のビルダーにアワードが手渡されました。
アワード発表の際のステージ前、かなりの来場者が集まり、このイベントの盛り上がり具合がわかる様子でした。
The awards presentation was held on the second day. Special invited guest selected awards as well as the show awards. During the awards, the front of the stage was packed with spectators watching and was the peak of the event.
もちろん、MQQNEYES Pickもありました。
Wildman 石井さんが手がけたこちらのMQQNDISCがアワードとなります。
Of course, MQQNEYES presented an award as well. The Mooneyes Pick awards was painted by none other than Wildman on a special MQQN Disc.
しかし、ステージ上に上がったShige-sanからのアワード発表は、
「今年のMQQNEYES PICKは、残念ながらありません。」
However, when Shige went on stage to present the award, he explained that after much time was spent looking for a recipient, he did not have a MQQNEYES PICK this year.
会場中が騒然となる中、
「来年はもっとカスタムに磨きをかけ、みんなでもっと良いSHOWに出来るようがんばりましょう。
しかし、この5th Annual Malaysia Classic & Kustom Show 2016というSHOWが
今年で5回目ということもあり、イベントを続けて来られた主催者、 Art Of Speedの
AsepとDeniに、このMQQNEYES PICKをあげたいと思います。」
As the crowd watched on, he encouraged that everyone push harder to create and finish refined customs and hoped the show will get better. For this year, as being the 5th Annual Malaysia Classic & Kustom Show 2016, to recognize the show, the MQQNEYES PICK was given to show organizers Deni and Asep for their continued efforts in making AOS for a fifth consecutive year.
Shige-sanのこの言葉に会場中から拍手が巻き起こり、
主催者であるArt Of Speed の Asep氏とDeni氏にMQQNEYES PICKが贈られました。
日本でイベントを長年主催しているShige-sanだからこそ、続ける事の難しさを考えた上での
MQQNEYES Pickになった様でした。
After Shige's speech the crowd cheered and Art of Speed organizers Deni and Asep accepted the MQQNEYES PICK. Having organize events continuously each year over a long period, Shige knows what it's like and how hard it can be. Giving recognition for their work is special indeed.
こうして、『5th Annual Malaysia Classic & Kustom Show 2016』は無事に終了となりました。
And that concluded the 5th Annual Malaysia Classic & Kustom Show 2016.
2日間のイベントが終了し、次の日には、Art Of Speedのお店の前でBBQが行われるということで、 お店へと向かいました。 After the two day event was finished, there was a BBQ party at Art of Speed's shop the next day so we headed there in the afternoon.
お店に到着すると、すでに多くの方々がお店にいらっしゃり、お店の中を見物したり、
配られたTiger Beerを片手に談笑していたりと盛り上がっていました。
折角なので、お店の中を見学させてもらいました！
When we arrived at their shop, there were already a lot of people there. I took a look around their shop. With a Tiger Beer in one hand that I was given, we all had a wonderful time talking together.

2時間程滞在した後、Shige-sanと僕は、飛行機の時間が迫っていましたので、
後ろ髪引かれる思いでお店を後にしました。
お別れの挨拶はもちろん、
『次は横浜で会いましょう！』
After two hours, it was time for Shige and I to head to the airport as we had a plane to catch back to Japan.
With great memories made during this trip, we left behind the group of friends.
The final farewell that everyone was saying was, "See you in Yokohama!"
今回のマレーシア出張で、東南アジアのカスタムカルチャーが盛り上がっていること、
これからもっと発展していくように思いました！

This trip to Malaysia really exposed me to Kustom Kulture in Southeast Asia and showed just how much everyone is excited and involved with it. I hope it continues to grow in the years to come!
